Frederick Thomas Robbins, died 13th October 1915, aged 27.
Private L/8738. 6th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment).

Born just outside the parish at Elphicks Farm on 12th September 1888 Frederick grew up at Rose Cottages, Clay Hill, Goudhurst. Enlisted in 1907/8, went to France with the 1st Buffs in September 1914 and was probably invalided home before transferring to the 6th battalion on his return. Whilst serving with battalion he was killed in action on at the Battle of Loos on 13th October and became one of six Goudhurst men whose names are recorded on the Loos Memorial at Dud Corner Cemetery.
